Jay is a professional drummer of 30 years and has extensive experience in live performance and studio work. He's also a drum instructor with 17 years of teaching experience with a degree in Child Development. 

As well as teaching privately, Jay teaches an award winning drum line and runs "Green Room Music Camp" in the summers. He teaches all styles from Rock to Jazz to Afro-Cuban and Metal. 

Jay has developed a wide variety of excercises to increase speed, relaxation, and creativity on the drum set. He also has an extraordinary independence and polyrythm curriculum. Jay teaches all ages from 5 on up. 

He has worked with many of the top producers in the music industry such as; Mike Clink (Guns N' Roses), Sylvia Massy (Tool, Johnny Cash, Black Crowes, System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers), and recorded at NRG studios, East West Studios, Village Studios and Prairie Sun.

 

Jay's performace highlights include playing at The Shoreline Amphitheater, The Cow Palace, Slim's, Great American Music Hall, The Whiskey, The Roxy, The Key Club, The El Rey, etc. 

 

Jay is endorsed by Paiste, Promark, Aquarian, DW, Thumper Custom Drums, and Coffin Case.
